week 16


Here is everything I've done over the last 2 weeks

A made new tiles for grass and dirt, as well as transitions to each other. I also created a few props, some mushrooms, grass blades, and a tree. 

I'm also almost finished with the pause menu. I just need to get it to display the stats of the characters and make it look better.

I've also think I have a somewhat finished idea on how the gameplay will work. The idea is to have a real-time battle system with 3 stats and 5 battle options. 

I've made it so damage will pop up on enemies when they take damage.

The stats I have in mind are attack, defense, and super armor. Attack and defense are the bog standard stats that determine how much damage is done or taken.  Super armor comes from battle games, and whether I implement it depends on whether or not I want attacks interruptible. In the case that it is, I plan to have super armor be the amount of damage a character can take before a ongoing attack is forced to stop. 

The battle options attack, skills, defend, items and run. Attack could be one of two things. A simple attack that just does damage or a special attack that a character can do without any cost. Skills are going to be abilities that can do special attacks or healing in exchange for mana.  Since I plan the battles to work in real time, I want the defend option that you can use to predict an attack and reduce its damage significantly. Items allow you to access and use items, which can range from healing items to stat boosters. Lastly run is something you can use to avoid an unwanted encounter. 

I also have a few concepts for special features on Technoblade. First, instead of mana, he consumes blood. Second, he can get blood from either dealing damage or causing the bleeding status effect. Thirdly, he can use his own health as a replacement for blood. Lastly, when his health reaches zero he won't go down, but rather start using his blood as a replacement for his health. Additionally, blood will start decreasing and he will get some special buffs.
